After 60 years in show business, Mel Brooks has earned more major awards than any other living entertainer; he is one of 14 EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) winners. Brooks agreed to throw himself into a new documentary about his storied career, giving American Masters exclusive interviews and complete access to his film and photo archives.

Premiering nationwide Monday, May 20, 2013 on PBS, Mel Brooks: Make a Noise features new interviews with Brooks, his friends and colleagues, including Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Cloris Leachman, Joan Rivers, Tracey Ullman, and his close friend, with whom he created The 2000 Year Old Man more than 50 years ago, Carl Reiner.

ABTB Receives it's 7th THEA Award for Space Fantasy The Ride at Universal Studios Japan (Attraction)
Space Fantasy The Ride is an interior spinning roller coaster, featuring 19 solar shuttles that each seat eight. Riders are propelled through stunning, colorful vistas and fun encounters with such fanciful characters as GBOT, your guide, the playful Sun Fairies and The Princess of the solar system; Cosmia. Our mission is to gather positive energy and re-energize our sun.

Comments from the Thea Awards Committee:
This spinning roller coaster was retrofitted into an existing building and features a highly themed queue, engaging effects and charming characters. The ride is a whirl of dazzling color light and thrills, delivered by a technical potpourri of 3D cameras, scanning lasers, violet fibers, and fiber optics as well as video walls, to create star fields, stardust clouds, star falls, dusty nebulas & a sonic boom blast into the sun! It's a thrilling experience that delivers an engaging story using advanced effects in a meaningful way, making an on-the-spot connection with its target audience.

ABTB completes Music Production and Sound Design for “Beyond All Boundaries” - at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans with Executive Producer Tom Hanks
True to history it is, but to appeal to the broadest possible audience -– from the Greatest Generation to Gen Y -– the Museum engaged Hollywood technicians to create a jaw-dropping experience in 4-D, a technique that engages all the audience’s senses with digital effects, life-sized props, animation, and atmospherics as well as film and sound. Audiences will feel the tank treads rumbling across North Africa’s deserts, brush snow from their cheeks during the wintery Battle of the Bulge, and flinch as anti-aircraft fire tries to bring down their B-17 on a bombing run over Nazi Germany.

Beyond All Boundaries was produced by
Phil Hettema, onetime Senior Vice President, Attraction Development for Universal Studios and President of the Hettema Group. The Los Angeles-based studio specializes in crafting immersive entertainment for Hollywood movie studios and dynamic museum exhibits such as those at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry and the Constitution Center in Philadelphia. When approached by The National World War II Museum, the heralded production team eagerly agreed to work with the New Orleans institution. The reasons were as personal as they were professional.
